The Ice Academy of Montreal sprung from the founding head coach's desire and passion to advance the sport of Ice Dance. I.AM's achievement in helping the sport's best become world champions is unparalleled. It is the premier training centre for excellence in Ice Dance.
The founders' philosophy of always reaching for an higher aesthetic, wholistic development of the individual and a unique team approach to coaching guides the Academy today. Whether at world champion or developing-level this proven method allows every skater to realize their fullest potential and say with confidence "I.AM at my best".
2020 SEMINARS
Join one of our 2020 Seminars to propel your skills to a higher level. From fundamentals to choreography, we offer a range of programming to meet the needs of developing Ice Dance couples or singles. New Seminars are added regularly and custom ones can be designed for group or individual settings.

Marie-France Dubreuil
Recipient of the Skate Canada Lifetime Achievement award, Marie-France is a true luminary in the world of Ice Dance. After nearly three decades of skating and delighting fans at the top competitions, Marie-France founded the pre-runner to I.AM with skating partner and husband Patrice Lauzon and Romain Haguenauer.
Marie-France’s achievements, with Patrice, include five Canadian national titles, silver medals at Grand Prix Finals and World Championships, gold at the Four Continents Championships and participation at two Olympic Winter Games.
Marie-France’s dedication to high-performance coaching is borne out of a vision that one’s full potential can be tested and expanded through Ice Dance – and all forms of skating , allowing participants of all levels to experience the thrill of both artistry and athleticism.

Patrice Lauzon
The other half of Dubreuil-Lauzon team, Patrice has a rich career of achievement as one of the world’s most recognized Ice Dance skaters. He pursued the path of many Canadian boys as a young hockey skater before crossing over to Ice Dance. A five time Canadian national champion, he has shared the podium with Marie-France at many of the world’s top competitions.
As a co-founder of I.AM, he has dedicated his professional life to coaching the next generation
of top Ice Dance skaters. When not instructing at rink side, Patrice purses his entrepreneurial passion for nurturing his dream of building the world’s top training academy to give back to the sport he loves.

Romain Haguenauer
With more than 20 years of experience in coaching and choreographing at European, World and Olympic level, Romain Haguenauer has worked and led generations of skaters to the top of their sport.
Former Ice dancer of the French National team, former French National coach, Romain Haguenauer, born and raised in Lyon, moved to Montreal in July 2014 and co-founded the Ice Academy of Montreal.
“Ice Skating - Ice Dance in particular, is my passion since I was 8 years old. I was 20 when I decided to turn my passion into my job and still today, I love to push my students to give their best technically, to produce beauty and expression, to reach their goal, to reach gold.”
